Memphis-Based HVAC Company Announces $2.75 Million Expansion Project

HVAC company American Residential Services (ARS)/Rescue Rooter recently announced that it will invest $2.75 million to expand its headquarters operations in Memphis.

ARS/Rescue Rooter, a privately held Memphis-based company established in 1975, is one of the nation’s largest providers of heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and sewer and drain services for homes and businesses.

“ARS has proudly called Memphis home for 25 years. We are committed to investing in our community, continuing to hire top talent, and providing exceptional service to our valued customers,” CEO of American Residential Services Scott Boose said in a statement.

The company currently has operations in 24 states.

ARS/Rescue Rooter’s expansion project at its Ridge Lake Boulevard facility is expected to create 125 new jobs in Shelby County over a five-year period, according to a press release by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD).

“Memphis has the infrastructure, workforce and business climate needed to support ARS/Rescue Rooter, and I am grateful the company has once again placed its trust in Tennessee for this project. Today’s announcement is sure to enhance the livelihood of this community for years to come,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter added in a statement.

The company also compiled a list of the 25 most energy-efficient cities and regions in America based on installing energy-efficient residential cooling and heating systems through its network of service areas, in which Memphis ranked 14th.

The top five energy-efficient cities on the company’s recently compiled list were Riverside, California; San Antonio, Texas; Cincinnati, Ohio; Seattle, Washington; and Alexandria, Virginia.

The company compiled the list by ranking the cities and regions by those with the highest mix of high-efficiency units relative to the total units installed in that specific market, according to its website.
